More than two million homeowners nationwide have already benefitted from the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program, but hundreds of thousands of additional families are still eligible for help. NHS of Greater Cleveland is working in partnership with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, NeighborWorks® America and more than 700 housing counseling agencies across the country to help homeowners complete application materials for the program free-of-charge and successfully submit them to their mortgage company.

If you have any questions at all about what is required or whether you might be eligible, now is definitely the time to reach out for expert help and advice. There are a number of benefits when working with a counseling expert from a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. Please contact NHS of Greater Cleveland today at (216) 458-4663 to understand your options if you are facing foreclosure.

NHS of Greater Cleveland can help find a solution that can fit your needs, but first, select the situation that best describes you.

  • I Am Struggling to Make My Mortgage Payments › Modification programs can help you lower your monthly mortgage payments.

  • I Am Looking to Refinance › Through one of the Making Home Affordable (MHA) refinance programs, you could save by lowering your interest rate, shortening your loan term, or switching to a fixed-rate mortgage, even if you’re underwater.

  • I Am Unemployed › Unemployment forbearance programs let you take a break from your regular payments while you’re looking for work.

  • I Am Considering a Short Sale › When the expense of homeownership becomes too great, short sales and other transition assistance programs can help you move forward while avoiding the sting of foreclosure.
