Our Green Organization
In August 2014, Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland was awarded the NeighborWorks® America Green Organization Designation, joining a number of sustainable organizations throughout the country that will lead the affordable housing and community development industry to a more sustainable future.
NHS of Greater Cleveland has adopted a set of green standards in its organizational operations, as well as in its education, counseling and lending programs and services in order to apply for this standard. Future plans also include exploring alternative energy options and building green knowledge and capacity amongst peers and partners throughout the region.

About NeighborWorks Green Designation
NeighborWorks® believes that sustainability goes far beyond green construction. Providing the most effective green resources, knowledge, and venues for action can impact a community at its core, transforming not only the physical environment that residents work and live in, but their quality of life, personal health and sense of empowerment. The NeighborWorks® Green Organization designation recognizes NeighborWorks® network members who incorporate healthy and sustainable principles into every facet of their operations and throughout their lines of business.
Through the NeighborWorks Green Organization program, NeighborWorks® America supports the comprehensive commitment to sustainable operations conducted by its member organizations that can extend social, financial, health and environmental benefits of green homes and housing practices to thousands of communities and tens of thousands of individuals and families.
