Neighborhood Housing Services Throws Party in the Parking Lot for Residents
On Saturday, June 10th from 11am until 2pm the Broadway neighborhood's newest business, Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland (NHSGC), will throw a Party in the Parking Lot for area residents as part of a celebration for National NeigborWorks® Week. The party will be held in the parking lot behind their new office located at 5700 Broadway Avenue (the old St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store).
There will be free hot dogs, chips, and beverages, music, face painting, information tables on homebuying and home repair resources, and an art contest for kids.
Located right in Slavic Village in the former St.Vincent DePaul Thrift Store building, NHSGC provides a "one-stop shop" that meets the needs of potential homeowners. NHSGC facilitates homeownership for potential homebuyers through educational seminars, short and long term financial training workshops, pre-purchase counseling, and the evaluation of the credit worthiness of potential buyers.
During National NeighborWorks® Week, June 3-10, Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland and other NeighborWorks® organizations across the country will mobilize tens of thousands of business people, residents and government officials in a week of neighborhood change and awareness. They will rehab and repair homes, paint and landscape properties, conduct neighborhood tours, recognize successful partnerships and host a number of events that educate, train and inform. In 2005, more than 18,800 families benefited from the week's activities nationwide.
