Lou Tisler, Executive Director.

Mr. Tisler has been involved in community and economic development for the past 16 years. In July of 2005, Mr. Tisler began as the Executive Director of NHSGC. Previously, Mr. Tisler was the first Executive Director of the First Suburbs Development Council. Through his work at the FSDC, Mr. Tisler was instrumental in originating a public/private partnerships, as well as developing additional resources for economic and community development activities. In 2004, Mr. Tisler was selected by the American Marshall Memorial Fund for its German Marshall Fellowship program that provides a unique opportunity for policy and opinions leaders from 14 European countries and the United States to gain an in-depth understanding of societies, institutions and peoples across the Atlantic. Mr. Tisler has a Masters of Business Administration in Management and Labor Relations and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Cleveland State University.

Darren Hamm, Housing Sustainability Counselor.

Mr. Hamm joined NHSGC in 2007 as part of the Homeownership Preservation staff, concentrating on foreclosure through counseling and classroom instruction. Darren has several years of experience in Northeast Ohio’s non-profit sector, primarily as a consultant to over 20 organizations. He received his Masters of Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University and has traveled internationally to study community development. Darren is also an organizer and neighborhood activist residing in Cleveland’s near-West side.

Karen Kennedy , Homeownership Preservation Counselor.

Ms. Kennedy joined NHSGC in 2008 and is dedicated to providing counseling and education for homeowners as part of the NHSGC Homeownership Preservation Team to combat home foreclosures.  Karen has over 21 years of diverse non-profit experience assisting clients, and has attained training and certifications in Foreclosure Prevention, First Time Homebuyer Education, Post Purchase Education, Rehabilitation Lending, Financial Fitness, Credit Counseling, Accounting, and Human Resources.  Ms. Kennedy attended The University of Akron and Stark Technical College studying Business Administration.

Anne Kodash, Loan Officer.

Mr. Kodash joined NHSGC in 2008. Anne has been in the Real Estate and Financial field for 17 years. Previously Anne worked for the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority as a Homeownership Coordinator, helping assist low income buyer's purchase a home using the housing choice voucher program. Prior experience also includes working for a Neighborworks organization specializing in Housing Counseling, Homebuyer Education, and loan structuring for down payment assistance. Anne has assisted hundreds of families to become first time home buyers throughout the Portage, Summit, Lake and Geauga county areas.  Anne has received her education through the John Carroll University, Bohecker's Business College, Southern Ohio College,and numerous Neighborworks Training Institutes.

Paula Miller, Director of Operations.

Ms. Miller joined NHSGC in 2002. Ms. Miller has experience in assisting homeowners with budget and credit counseling and post purchase counseling, processing and servicing the NHSGC loan portfolio for home repair and down payment assistance and is instrumental in the development of new programs. Ms. Miller has over 11 years of non-profit experience and has established herself as one of the premier community development professionals in the city of Cleveland. Ms. Miller has a Masters of Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology and Spanish from Hiram College.

Tom Voss, Rehabilitation Specialist.

Mr. Voss joined NHSGC in August of 2002 as a Loan Officer and moving into his field of excellence in 2003. Mr. Voss has had numerous trainings and certifications in almost all aspects of home rehabilitation. Mr. Voss is also taking the lead role in moving NHSGC into the field of Reverse Mortgage Programming for senior citizens. Mr. Voss was also the key contract management staff in the $700,000+ purchase and rehabilitation of our facilities. Mr. Voss has over 19 years in the non-profit field and has become the go to person in many neighborhood programs and services including Energy Choice, Rehabilitation Lending and Post-Purchase Seminars in home rehabilitation.

Elizabeth Sanchez, HomeOwnership Center Manager.

Ms. Sanchez joined NHSGC in 2003 and has brought a diverse set of skills to NHSGC, including the ability to development and administer a bilingual homeownership program. Ms. Sanchez is also responsible for conducting pre-purchase homebuyer workshops, developing credit repair and home buying action plans in individual counseling sessions and maintaining the schedule of appointments and client records for participants in the HomeOwnership Center. Ms. Sanchez has been in the non-profit field for over 13 years with sustainable success and career advancement.

Mahria Harris, Housing Counselor.

Ms. Harris joined NHSGC in August of 2004 and is one of three key staff persons conducting homeownership counseling, including classroom instruction and individual counseling. Ms. Harris has created and implemented numerous homeownership activity and tracking documents. Ms. Harris received special recognition from the City of Shaker Heights Municipal Court for her delivery of services to homeowners of the City of Shaker Heights. Ms. Harris has been in the non-profit field for 8 years and is a graduate of the Bryant and Stranton Business College.
